Titi Camara - your memories
I'm writing an article about Titi Camara (it's a kind of Where Are They Now? thing) and I want to get fans' memories about him as a player.

Obviously he didn't play many games - and had zero impact when he did! - but if you can recall any of his performances then post them here. Same if you remember any other stories about him, or if you ever saw him falling out of Faces at 4am with Rigobert Song.

I seem to remember him promising when he arrived that he'd score "Goals, goals, goals" for us and then didn't score any.

I'd want to use some of the your quotes for the article, which will appear on the Yahoo Football website this week. So if you don't want your comments to be used then let me know, and they won't be.

Also posting something on a Liverpool forum to get some balance! I think they actually quite like him there.

Cheers,
GD

Thank you for your kind words about Titi, you can read the published article here: https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/blast-past-titi-camara-115436987.html

I've credited WHO as opposed to individual posters for quotes - gets too messy.

Was a fucking pathetic cunt of a player. Out of shape. Weird looking. Looked like a black Uncle Fester with a rubber dinghy round his mid-rift. Fucking woeful touch and just stole a fucking living, then cunt. Made me cringe every time I saw him wear our shirt and when he missed another sitter I just wanted to smack the cunt round the face and just get hom away from my club. An abortion of a player. Completely fucking useless waste of space.

I like Wikipedia's review of his time at West Ham:

Signed by manager Harry Redknapp[5] on 21 December 2000 for a fee of £1.5 million which, depending on other factors, could have risen to £2.6 million, Camara announced, "I've come to West Ham to play, play, play – and score, score, score. If it was a question of money, I could have stayed at Liverpool and picked it up. I need to play, and if I don't it is totally pointless."[6] Making his West Ham debut on 23 December 2000 in a 2–1 away defeat to Leicester City,[7] Camara went on to play only fourteen games, in all competitions, without scoring at all.[8]

His legacy is that his shorts are now used as a cover for the pitch when it snows.

Probably already mentioned below, but I can't help thinking he played away at Anfield early on, was fucking useless and fell into a hoarding at one point.

Biggest arse I've ever seen on a player.

He contributed quite a lot to the clubs medical experts when they was trying to fathom out his actual age rather than what was being said on his hooky passport

My only abiding memory was when he came on as a sub making no impact what so ever but sported a huge over sized pair of white shorts. Other than that I've no idea what he contributed.

Re: Titi Camara - your memories
main memory is from before he joined us. I drove up to Liverpool for a night game, only to see him fluke a goal off his not inconsiderable backside about 9 mins from time and we lost 1-0. Traffic jam all along East Lancs Road even to join M6 and didn't get to London until about 3am. And I think it rained.
Then 'arry signs the bastard.

I remember is him having a huge arse

Worm, spot on.

I recall an FA Cup game away at Walsall which, as I recall, wasn't too long after he had signed.

We had front row tickets in our end, and our lot were warming up in front of us before the match and we couldn't believe just how fat and very obviously out of condition he was.

Unfortunately, he played like it too. Not one of H's finest moments signing this cunt.

Didn't he have the front to try and sue us for breach of contract or something?
